I'm new to the state and this has been a "go-to" guide for me to discover and feel reasonably confident about trying out new routes. Each ride description suggests a parking area for staging and a map as well as a topo profile. Mike's prose can be a little on the corny side at times, but overall I think he does a good job of fairly describing what you should encounter for road quality, traffic, typical weather, etc.One small omission (someone correct me please if I'm wrong) but I don't think the crossing of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge is included in the book. If you're going to ride in the Gig Harbor area, I'd recommend parking near the bridge in Tacoma and riding it across--it's in my view a far superior bicycling experience to crossing the Golden Gate or Brooklyn Bridges.Described in this book, I've enjoyed the Flying Wheels loop from Redmond; Mt. Baker climb from Glacier; Mt. Rainier climbs from entrance stations; Lion's Rock climb from Ellensburg. The book gets carried from my bedside to recliner and studied for new possibilities. I highly recommend this guide.
